New learning platform In 2020, Speech Pathology Australia will launch a new learning platform! The platform will provide access to quality learning activities, developed and presented by leading educators, researchers and clinicians. It will connect you to self-directed and personalised professional development experiences, designed to enhance your speech pathology knowledge and skills. The new platform will have multi-modal learning opportunities including face-to-face, blended and online events as well as podcasts, webisodes, National Tour information and a learning resource centre. Best of all, increased search functionality will make it easier to find programs best suited to your learning needs. We are also pleased to announce our new Communities of Practice program in 2020. You will be able to j oin an ongoing social learning group of your choice where case studies, concerns, challenges, or a passion for a topic, can be shared to deepen knowledge and consolidate workshop learning on an ongoing basis. Our Communities of Practice groups are led by SPA Advisors and educators who steward discussions for one hour per month over a six month period. More information will be provided soon.

Keep your evidence (e.g., certificates of attendance) handy. If you have attended SPA CPD events, your certificates of attendance will already be stored on your online member account (under the My Events tab). For a list of acceptable evidence for each activity type, check out the first page of the PSR log form. If you are planning an extended period of absence from the profession and you wish to maintain CPSP status when you return, make sure you have met the minimum practice hour requirement. If you are selected for an audit, don’t panic! If you have met the minimum requirements and kept good records the audit should be straightforward and stress-free! The PSR advisor is available to answer queries and support members through the audit process.
