Screen/Triage Determine infectious agent risk, clinical need and any regulatory requirements . Risk Assessment Rate risk of service provision via preferred method whilst considering the speech pathologist, environmental and client factors and determine the following:

Are there any additional transmission-based risks related to the service being provided?

Must the service be provided to limit other risks?

Ensure transmission-based precautions (in addition to standard) are in place and any regulatory requirements.

Consider delaying service at this time - schedule follow- up/consider referral or other assistance.

Consider alternate modes of service delivery (e.g. telepractice).

What is the lowest risk method of delivering the service?

Is the level of risk acceptable to all involved?

Document decision making and implement.
