Claire Langdon is currently a senior dysphagia specialist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Nedlands, WA, with an acute care caseload. She also lectures at Curtin Uni versity. She has a Master of Applied Epidemiology and completed a PhD entitled “Pneumonia in Acute Stroke: What are the Clinical and Demographic Factors?” Claire has presented at national and international conferences, and has several publications in peer-reviewed journals. Planning for Speech Pathology Australia National Conference in Adelaide from 17 – 21 May 2009 is well underway. The Conference theme is Aspire A dvancing S peech P athology I nnovation, R esearch and E xcellence. We are delighted that Travis Threats PhD Professor and Chair in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Saint Louis University and Laura Justice PhD a clinical speech-language pathologist and applied researcher in early childhood language and literacy development, communication disorders, and educational interventions and Professor in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University have agreed to be the keynote speakers for the Conference and Associate Professor Janet Baker Coordinator of the Graduate Entry Master of Speech Pathology program at Flinders University in SA has accepted the invitation to present the Elizabeth Usher Memorial Lecture.
