Our workforce Speech pathologists are equipped for quality practice that meets community needs

Priority area 3.1 Promote commitment to professionalism and life-long learning Strategies for 2020-2022 3.1.1 Provide easy to navigate access for members to a range of the Association’s clinical and professional information and resources. 3.1.2 Expand modalities and resources to increase attraction and enable flexible access to high quality education. 3.1.3 Reinforce inclusive culture within the profession, involving adapting and embedding professional “civility” initiatives, as guides to communication and interactions within social media and member communities. Priority area 3.2 Build the research capacity and capability of the profession Strategies for 2020-2022 3.2.1 Investigate partnerships with international speech pathology associations and other bodies in areas of evidence-based practice development and sharing of resources (links also with 1.2). 3.2.2 Develop educational opportunities and resources to support the membership to apply the three principles of Evidence Based Practice (E 3 BP). Priority area 3.3 Understand, grow and support a workforce of increasing diversity and respond to diverse communities Strategies for 2020-2022 3.3.1 Conduct speech pathology profession workforce analysis. Stage 1 – Capture and understand the workforce trends to identify strategies to support the profession now and into the future. Stage 2 – Map current demands of the profession and future needs of the community. 3.3.2 Promote the benefits of membership of the Association to groupings within the profession with current low levels of membership.

Priority area 3.4 Lead innovation in the speech pathology profession Strategies for 2020-2022 3.4.1 Build awareness in the profession as to how innovation can be embedded in practice. 3.4.2 Promote innovative practice that demonstrates a positive impact on the community. 3.4.3 Enable the profession to adopt and fully utilise digital health technologies.
