On 29 March , speech pathologist Patricia Mizzi (pictured below), from Sounds Right Speech Pathology, joined forces with Plenty Valley Clubhouse, Mill Park Library and Norparrin Early Intervention as part of the City of Whittlesea Autism Awareness walk to highlight autism in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. The event attracted more than 500 people and was coordinated completely by volunteers. The event was one of the many celebrations held in the City of Whittlesea to celebrate Autism Awareness week. Thrilled to be asked to be part of the event, Patricia Mizzi felt that this was a great opportunity to highlight the role of speech and language pathologists for children with an ASD. As Patricia said, "The event created a sense of community amongst families who often feel alone. It was great to see so many people in our community joining together to promote autism awareness".
