Exciting announcements of both the 2015 National Tour and 2016 National Tour speakers! Speech Pathology Australia is delighted to announce the 2015 and 2016 National Tour speakers are continuing the tradition of highly respected and knowledgeable speech pathologists.

Speech Pathology Australia is thrilled to announce that the 2015 SPA National Tour speaker will be Associate Professor Jane McCormack , presenting a two day workshop on Childhood Speech Impairment in various Branches, with dates to be advised.

This two-day workshop will be in the area of Childhood Speech Impairment, and will encompass: • The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) – Children and Youth (WHO, 2007) and its application to the assessment and management of children with speech impairment. • Insights from the life experiences of children with speech impairment and their families, and the contribution these make to our practice. • Values, beliefs and attitudes of early childhood educators/teachers and SLPs regarding communication impairment, and the importance of health/education collaboration in supporting children with speech impairment. Associate Professor Jane McCormack (BHlth Sci (Sp Path) (Hons Class 1), PhD) is the Speech Pathology Discipline Leader at Charles Sturt University. Jane oversees the delivery of, and teaches across, both the Bachelor of Speech and Language Pathology and the Master of Speech Pathology programs, specifically subjects relating to child speech and language impairment and

professional practice. Prior to commencing at CSU, Jane worked as a speech-language pathologist in community health and early intervention settings. Jane conducts research into the experiences of individuals with communication difficulties and their families, the application of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF; WHO, 2001) in speech pathology, collaborative practice and alternative models of speech pathology education and service delivery. In 2009-10, Jane was awarded the Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Scholarship for Research in the Allied Health Sciences and in 2011, was awarded the SCOPUS Australian Young Researcher of the Year for Humanities and Social Sciences for her research. In 2012, Jane received an Early Career Research Fellowship at CSU to extend her research in the health and wellbeing of children in the early years. She was runner-up in the international Pursuit Award for research in childhood disability in 2013. The Association is looking forward to Jane sharing her passion and knowledge in the area of holistic care of children with speech and language impairment and their families.
