NDIS Audit

Undergoing an audit under the NDIS National Quality and Safeguarding Framework (NQSF) UNDER THE NDIS QUALITY AND SAFEGAURDING COMMISSION REGISTERED NDIS PROVIDERS NEED TO RE-REGISTER TO FULFILL THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE NQSF. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS MEMBER QUERIES REGARDING THIS PROCESS, AND WHETHER IT IS BENEFICIAL, THE ASSOCIATION DISCUSSED SOME OF THESE QUESTIONS WITH SPEECH PATHOLOGISTS WHO UNDERWENT THE PROCESS AND KINDLY AGREED TO SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCES.

What are some reasons that you might consider re- registering? This is a business decision that only you as the business owner can make. Re-registering means that you can continue to see all types of NDIS clients, regardless of how they are managed. The Commission is encouraging providers to re-register for this reason, so that there continues to be a strong market, with a range of providers for participants to choose from. Preparing for the audit is also an opportunity to review your policies and processes and make changes that improve the quality of your service delivery. The NQSF has been gradually rolled out, with NSW and SA coming under the remit of the NDIS quality and Safeguarding Commission (the Commission) on 1 July 2018. All other states and territories apart from WA are now under the Commission from 1 July 2019. WA has been extended and will not come under the Commission until 1 December 2020.
