Keep workers SAFE and
LIMIT the spread To keep workers safe and limit the spread of COVID-19, Safe Work Australia recommends every employer should do the following at their workplace :
Allow workers to work from home, where possible.
Ensure physical distancing by keeping a distance of at least 1.5 metres between people.
Ask SPA Support for telepractice
Encourage all workers to frequently wash their hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or by using an alcohol-based hand sanitiser and to practise good hygiene Be aware of how to spot COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat and shortness of breath) and make sure workers do not come to work if they are unwell
My practice has been adjusting to telehealth, but I continue to have questions about how to serve clients remotely. Where can I get support in the use of telepractice? Speech Pathology Australia has created a variety of resources for members may need ongoing professional support in the area of telepractice. The Telepractice Resources webpage includes information and documents for speech pathologists, clients, and other stakeholders. The new Learning Hub has dedicated information on professional development related to telepractice. Some speech pathologists may also require individualised support and specific advice regarding the clients they are serving. The Association has added a 'Telepractice' search function to the online ' Supervision Register '. Members can use this to identify external supervisors who have indicated their ability to offer clinical supervision in the provision of telehealth. Understanding that telepractice is a method of service delivery that may be applied to a range of clinical settings, members should also input relevant information about area of practice and sector into the search. Please note that supervisors typically charge a fee. The views expressed in supervision relationships are not necessarily the views of, or are endorsed by, SPA. Members may also contact the Professional Support Advisor at National Office or psa@ speechpathologyaustralia.org.au for additional resources in clinical supervision or mentoring .
Make sure your workplace is regularly cleaned and disinfected
Have signs and posters around the workplace to
remind workers and others of the risks of COVID-19 and the measures that are necessary to stop its spread.
Keep workers SAFE and LIMIT the spread
