in practice

National office staff visit South Australia In April, speech pathologists who own a private practice attended SPA’s private practice seminar in Adelaide. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet with providers working all around South Australia. Members had the opportunity to network and listen to speakers discuss diverse topics such as pricing, profitability and productivity, clinical education in private practice, HR and employment issues, the NDIS, ethical based scenarios, and to hear about the latest resources and supports available to SPA members. I would like to thank the members who attended the day - it was a pleasure to meet you all!

Student and early career information evening

National office staff including Trish Johnson and myself had a fun

networking evening at Flinders University with students and speech pathologists in the early stages of their career. We were joined by Anna Pannuzzo from WorkPlacePLUS and SPA director, Tim Kittel. It is always enjoyable hearing about the issues faced by members who are about to start work or who have recently commenced employment and share information about the supports that are available to them in the early stages of their career. Thank you to all the speakers and those members who attended; my particular thanks to Leonie Randall who helped organise the evening.
