This framework will be overseen by the National Quality and Safeguarding Commission (the Commission). The Commission is separate and independent of the NDIA, and has its own website, provider portal, and phone number. There is also separate legislation governing the Commission, and it has additional powers regarding NDIS providers. You can read more about the Commission on their fact sheet. The NQSF is rolling out progressively across Australia, with South Australia and New South Wales already under the remit of the Commission and all of the other states and territories (except Western Australia) will transfer across on the 1st of July 2019. Western Australia will be the last to be transferred on 1st of July 2020, and so the following information does not apply until 2020 for WA providers. Don’t panic, existing registered NDIS providers in ACT, Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and NT do not need to do anything for their registration to transfer from the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to the Commission. It is recommended members: 1. Log in to the NDIS portal (MyPlace) and review your current registration groups to make sure you have full registration for those groups you wish to continue providing services under and delete any that you do not by 21 June 2019. NB: Any groups that are pending state approval will not roll over to your registration under the Commission, and you will need to add them to your registration when you re-register/renew under the Commission. 2. Check your contact details are up-to-date in order to receive the relevant correspondence from the Commission. New providers wishing to register to deliver NDIS services in Queensland, Northern Territory, Tasmania, or ACT will now need to wait to apply for registration until the NQSF rolls out on 1st of July 2019. In Victoria applications to deliver therapeutic supports are still being considered until the 1st of July 2019 through the NDIA, however to register for some registration groups, such as early childhood, providers need to wait until 1 July 2019 to apply for registration with the Commission. See the NDIS website for more information. Members wishing to find out more about registering under the NQSF and the auditing process can look at the resources available on the NQSF section of the NDIS page of the SPA website. If members have further questions they can contact the NDIS and Practice Advisor or Senior Advisor Disability, or call National Office on 1300 368 835. Erin West NDIS and Practice Advisor INDIVIDUAL STATES HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN RESPONSIBLE FOR REGISTERING AND REGULATING NDIS PROVIDERS WITHIN THAT STATE. HOWEVER, FOLLOWING THE FULL ROLL OUT OF THE NATIONAL QUALITY AND SAFEGUARDING FRAMEWORK (NQSF) THERE WILL BE ONE SYSTEM FOR ALL PROVIDERS ACROSS AUSTRALIA TO ENSURE ONE CONSISTENT PROCESS. The NDIS National Quality and Safeguarding Framework is coming
