more than 1.2 million Australians who have a communication or swallowing disorder that impacts on their daily life. Communication is a basic human right and Speech Pathology Week seeks to promote this fact. As in previous years, the week will be promoted by a media, an online and social media campaign, and a Speech Pathology Week kit for members who wish to purchase marketing collateral. Separate marketing collateral will be supplied to State Branches to help promote their own Speech Pathology Week events. It's not to early to start thinking about Speech Pathology Week 2018 activities. Let us know your ideas! Speech Pathology Week 2018 is on from Sunday 19 to Saturday 25 August. The theme for Speech Pathology Week in 2018 is: Communication access is communication for all! This theme draws on aspirations from the Speech Pathology 2030 project. The theme reinforces the important role that speech pathologists play in the lives of Australians with speech and swallowing difficulties. The theme in 2018 builds on groundwork laid by the theme for Speech Pathology Week 2017: “Communication access – everyone gets the message”.
