“What are the sounds in the word ‘tap’ ?” After sounding out the sounds in the ‘tap’, students can use playdough, wooden/plastic letters or alphabet stamps to form the word. At this stage, it may not be appropriate to ask the students to write the word as it may cognitively overload their system.
