Laura Caire is case manager and speech pathologist for Southern Health’s Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (AIPU), part of the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service. She has a passion for supporting adolescents with social, emotional and behavioural problems. As part of her role in the AIPU, Laura takes every opportunity to increase staff awareness of communication needs, provide strategies and resources to meet these needs and to advocate for young people who may present with communication impairment, something which is often overlooked.
