Speech pathologists strive to provide the highest standards of integrity, respect, professionalism and professional competence in all aspects of their professional practice. Demonstration of ethical practice is supported and developed through the application of ethical frameworks in decision making activities. Ongoing education in ethical reasoning can strengthen awareness of the ethical issues inherent in speech pathology practice and speech pathologists can increase consistency in ethical decision making by practicing the analysis and identification of ethical values, principles and standards within a scenario. The Ethics Board of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) has a responsibility to provide education for members, which historically has been provided through seminars, presentations, journal articles and the hard copy ‘Ethics Education Package’ available to all members and students. Commencing in 2015, the Ethics Board undertook to further develop the content presented in the hard copy publication into an online eLearning platform, to increase engagement with this resource though all segments of the membership. Two modules have been developed and published online, containing detail and practical application of theoretical frameworks within case studies to support development of independent ethical reasoning. Introduction/rationale: SPA members can access information, support and education regarding ethical decision making in professional practice. The Ethics Board promotes proactive ethical decision making through the Ethics Education Package available for members to download from the SPA website. This education resource has been developed further into an online e-learning platform. This workshop will launch the online modules of the Ethics Education Package and allow participants to apply theoretical frameworks and practice ethical decision making using the new format.
